Reflecting On What We Can Really Do

I watched The Farthest: Voyager in Space at Netflix. All things considered, we can look back and see how much mankind has accomplished technologically. Although we're never physically out there, if you think about it, mankind has already gone beyond its reach. And it's not stopping.

When we collectively put our hearts and souls into something, we can do anything. I watched the documentary and saw geniuses pouring their emotions out about their work. Real tears. These were people who thought further than anyone could. Far, far ahead. Outside anything that even they themselves could fathom.

Everyone should appreciate and learn from the Voyagers. Besides the products themselves, people should know about the processes that the creators used. There is wisdom in knowing what these scientists and engineers did, and in understanding how they did it. The successes of the Voyagers are absolute testaments to the unparalleled success of the methods used to create them.

This is not just about designing, implementing, and testing. This is about synergy. It is teamwork beyond measure. With the Voyagers out in interstellar space, we have proof of what we can truly be capable of. We are never more futuristic than in the 1970's. If anything, as it was in 2017, and more so in 2018, we are still trying to catch up.
