Why Intel Can Build a Secure OS

I few recent blogs ago, I wrote about Why Intel Should Build an OS. Recent news shows Intel acquired security software company McAfee. Now we're seeing security built-in to "Intel inside" devices!

However, let's imagine further if Intel integrates their new found security in to their processors and/or chips with built-in OS. Are you seeing it? A computer device that has a built-in secured OS! Standard in all your brand new "Intel inside" computer devices! It is as brilliant as it is exciting, isn't it?

OS and security should be as close to the hardware as they should've been many years ago. This acquisition is an opportunity for Intel to revolutionize the industry. Of course, that would depend on whether Intel would actually be up to the challenge of competing with their own software partners. I wouldn't be surprised if Intel would just keep McAfee as a software arm operating traditionally under their umbrella to help cover for those times when hardware sales are down.

Still, the thought of Intel releasing hardware with built-in software is something worth watching out for. Seriously! Get that secured OS built-in to the hardware. If not Intel, who's up for the challenge?
