CES 2011: So What's New?

CES 2011 concludes today. After all the keynotes and all the exhibits are done, what's really new? Here's a quick rundown of what's new and hot at CES this year.

4G phones are sure to kick-off this year. Many manufacturers showed off products supporting the various pre-4G flavors offered by major telecommunication networks in the US.

Aiptek, JVC, Panasonic, Sony and Viewsonic exhibited 3D cameras and camcorders.

Dynamics exhibited Card 2.0, which uses smart electronic credit card technology that can support multiple accounts and enhanced security features.

Ford showed off their all-electric Ford Focus. Ford is planning to release around a dozen all-electric models up to 2012.

Fulton Innovation demoed wireless charging... for cars!

Intel showed off their upcoming Sandy Bridge processors along with partners who announced support for the new platform.

Misa Digital exhibited their re-invented guitar care of Michael Zarimis' Kitara, a synthesizer in a string-less guitar form factor.

Nintendo exhibited the Nintendo 3DS, a 3D enabled version of the popular Nintendo DS lines.

Razer exhibited Switchblade which is a gaming platform in a notebook form factor that features a programmable keyboard.

Samsung exhibited a semi-transparent 3D AMOLED display and bendable screens.

Sony  exhibited a couple of glasses-free 3D HDTVs.

Toshiba exhibited a laptop with glasses-free 3D screen and announces glasses-free 3D TV this year.

Vizio announces its entry to the mobile gadget business by announcing the Via smartphone and Via tablet which they are targeting to release this summer. They are expected to integrate seamlessly with Vizio's TV product lines.
